Why was my purchase declined? [back to top]
The Card's available balance is probably less than the purchase amount. You may inform the merchant of the remaining balance on the Card and use another form of payment to pay the difference, subject to the policy of the merchant. Also, please be aware that use of the State Farm Bank Visa Gift Card at some merchants - for example, some restaurants, mail-order companies, spas and salons - requires the Card have an available balance greater than the purchase amount to ensure sufficient funds for tips or incidental expenses.
How can I find the balance of the Card? [back to top]
You can review the Card balance and the last five (5) transactions activity record by calling toll-free 1-866-215-4237. You can also see your entire Card history by visiting www.sfgiftcard.com where this information is available.
How do split transactions work? [back to top]
If you wish to use the Card for a purchase which is greater than the balance of the funds available on the Card, you must first inform the merchant before completing the transaction. The merchant will require payment for the difference in cash or some other means of payment. Some merchants may not accept split transactions. If you fail to inform the merchant prior to completing the transaction, the Card may be declined. If you authorize a transaction and then fail to make a purchase of that item as planned, the approval may result in a hold for that amount of funds for up to three (3) days.
Will my Card lose value if I don't use it? [back to top]
